I have just finished a treatise on sociopathy by a renowned Canadian psychiatrist and expert on sociopathic/psychopathic disorders. While I have never been a hypochondriac, I was shocked to find that I exhibit all 18 symptoms that he maintains are necessary for diagnosing the condition. It was like reading a bullet-point account of my inner thought process and behavior. So my questions are these: Should I be worried that I may be a sociopath? And if I am, in fact, worried about the moral implications of such a diagnosis, does that, in itself, suggest that I am not sociopathic?
