Why can you call a person that's impressionable and a Pathological Liar ?

They make up stories and also pick up on other peoples lines.

For example: Chad told rebecca that th reason why he didn't have time to call her was because he had gotten into a accident and had broken his hand. Rebecca never saw evidence of the broken hand. It also turns out that chad ex girlfriend had the accident not him.

Can it be that chad is still infatuated with his ex or that her accident impress him enough to make up the story?

compulsive liar? Im not really sure he sounds like he has some kind of psychological issues.

When people lie, there is always a psychological reason. The true questions are : why this person lies ? Does it's regular / often ? Does this person is insecure ? If so, why ? What happened during his / her childhood ?  .. Etc... It is not so simple !
